How To Reduce Period Pain At Home?

What are the symptoms of irregular periods? 


Almost all women feel embarrassed when they have to face their family and close ones after the menstruation cycle. Many don't even take a leave for the same. There is nothing wrong about it till you are not in an abusive relationship.


If you are, then it is time you break-free from that as it is not only injurious to your health but also puts you in financial instability. 

 

What are the causes of irregular periods? 


A blood hormone test measures the levels of certain sex hormone. Certain problems can cause hormonal imbalance and cause the ovaries to release immature eggs or otherwise prevent normal egg development. Pregnancy is not possible if proper hormonal balance is not maintained. 


1: Ginger: 


Tea Ginger is an Indian spice root that has been used in Asian countries for centuries, and it became popular in the western world only a few decades ago. Ginger is beneficial for different diseases and symptoms, including irregular periods.


Regular consumption of raw ginger can help to regulate your periods. Ginger contains gingerol which helps lower inflammation in the body. It helps in contracting the uterine muscles and facilitates hormonal balance. It standardizes the monthly occurrence of periods. 

 

2: Unripe papaya 


Unripe Papaya fruits can be processed into juice. This is an excellent drink for those who have irregular periods. You can drink it regularly for a few months in order to regulate your period. However, do not consume it if you are already having your period as this may aggravate the symptoms and make you feel worse. 

 

3: Jaggery 


Jaggary or Jaggery is a type of unrefined sugar extracted from the sap of date palm, sugarcane, and sweet sorghum. It can be consumed as it is but is more commonly used in Ayurvedic medicines.


From treating menstrual irregularities to reducing uterine cramps, jaggery packs a whole lot of medicinal benefits. 


 4: Turmeric 


The spice that you use to add flavor to your food, the bright yellow-colored turmeric can do anything, literally. It is a magical home remedy that we can use in any condition. Regular consumption of jaggery may help regulate irregular periods.


It also has anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties that help in reducing uterine cramps. If you want to prepone your periods naturally, try having turmeric with warm milk and honey. Take it daily till you get your periods. 


 5: Aloe Vera 


Aloe juice can provide you with a balanced diet and help regulate your digestive system thereby improving health. It is a miracle drink that also helps treat menstrual irregularities and obesity, corrects hormonal imbalance and detoxifies the body.


You can make it fresh or buy it from the store, but do not drink Aloe Vera during periods or you will invite horrendous problems for yourself. 


6: Apple cider vinegar 


Apple cider vinegar is a wonderful, natural home remedy to keep in your medicine cabinet. According to the American Diabetes Association, consuming apple cider vinegar can help you regulate your periods and hormones in women suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome.


You may also lose weight and lower your blood sugar and insulin levels. Apple cider vinegar is also thought to help treat and prevent cancer of the mouth, esophagus, stomach, breast, and colon as well as help prevent dental plaque, heart disease, and high cholesterol. Pour some apple cider vinegar into a glass and drink it daily. Or take an apple cider vinegar capsule daily. 


7: Cinnamon 


Cinnamon is an essential ingredient used in Indian cuisine. It is used as a spice and for its aromatic properties. It owes its distinct aroma to cinnamaldehyde, a compound classically extracted from the bark of various cinnamon trees.


Cinnamon helps regulate the blood flow to the uterus and may treat irregular periods. It may reduce abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting during periods. By adding a teaspoon of cinnamon powder to a glass of milk, you can reduce menstrual pain both in intensity and duration. 

 

8: Beetroot 


Consuming beetroot may help deal with irregular period problems and their symptoms. Beetroot contains a high amount of folic acids and iron that help increase hemoglobin levels in the blood. It also works as an emmenagogue which helps in treating problems like bloating, weight gain, mood swings, and cramping. 


9: Consuming a healthy diet 


Unhealthy eating habit is one of the causes of irregular periods. Eating fast food, processed food, and alcohol may cause a hormonal imbalance in the body that may lead to irregular periods. You should make sure that your diet includes green vegetables, fruits, dry fruits, red meat, fish, and foods that give you complete nutrients regularly. 


10: Regular exercise and yoga 


Regular exercise has many health benefits. It keeps your weight in balance and in charge. But sometimes, a woman may lead to menstrual pain that causes hormonal imbalance, which is a physical reaction of the body to hormonal changes during ovulation and menstruation, in conjunction with normal growth and development.


Eating well-balanced meals regularly, drinking plenty of water, and doing yoga twice a week can help you prevent or improve menstrual pain.
